Hoodlums reportedly killed two people in Ijora area of Lagos State, yesterday.
Although the cause of the incident could not be confirmed as at press time, an eyewitness who identified himself as Banjo said that two people were killed.
He stated that people in the area scampered for safety and shops owners shut down their businesses and those who did not do same regretted because the “bad boys” looted their valuables.
The source said if not for the swift intervention of the police, more people would have been killed.
He said immediately the hoodlums saw police vehicles approaching, they took to their heels, adding that the police made some arrests but could not confirm whether the hoodlums were part of those arrested.
He could not also confirm what caused the incident.
Another man who identified himself as Mutairu said, “I cannot say what caused the incident, but I saw people I can call miscreants fighting and I had to take to my heels with my wife. We had to take refuge in a house near the railway.”
