Premier League duo Manchester United and Arsenal have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of German winger Marco Reus after the player reportedly set his sights on a summer switch to Real Madrid.
The Borussia Dortmund winger, who is currently one of the most sought after talents in World football, has been linked with a move to England on numerous occasions this summer.
Contract talks with the German side have stalled, and a move away from the Bundesliga seems all but certain.
According to Talksport, Real Madrid are open to activating Reus’ release clause when it becomes active next summer, with the fee believed to be £28m.
The winger has also been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past month, but a deal never came to fruition.
Dortmund could now look set to start a January bidding war for their star in order to maximize the amount they make on Reus.
