Tecno has released an upgrade to the Spark 4 device
— Tecno Spark 5. This entry-level smartphone embodies specifications
that are a notch higher than its predecessor in the ‘Spark’ series. As
usual, it retains the sleekness which comes with most TECNO smartphones.
This
post takes a look at the full specifications of the Spark 5 device. And
in relevant places, highlights the upgrade made from the Spark 4.

Tecno Spark 5 Display and Design
The
Spark 5 comes with a 6.6 inches display which is just a bit larger than
the 6.54 inches that accompanied the Spark 4. The design on the rear of
the device was retained. However, with a slight rearrangement of the
camera and flash positions.
A fingerprint sensor remains present
at the strategic location on the rear of the device. That can be easily
reached with the index finger.
Software and Processor
This device runs on the Android 10 operating system. Obviously an upgrade from the Android 9.0 (Pie) that came with the TECNO Spark 4.
It
also boasts of an Octa-core MediaTek Helio A22 Processor, with a
processing speed of 2.0GHz. This seems just okay for an average user of
an entry-level device like this one.
Camera
As
is recent practice with Transsion Holdings smartphones, the Infinix
Spark 5 comes with 3 rear cameras. These cameras are pegged at 13MP,
2MP, and 2MP on resolutions. The Spark 4 device does better in this
aspect.
The front of the device has an 8MP camera. Which is pretty much what was available before now.
TECNO Spark 5 RAM and Storage
As
its RAM, the Spark 5 device has a 2GB RAM which isn’t very impressive
looking from an upgrade perspective. However, lightweight smartphone
users might find this very sufficient to use without experience
performance lag.
Users have 32GB to store videos, documents, and other files. This comes with an external memory card support.
Battery
Tecno Spark 5 does quite well in this regard with a 5,000 mAh battery capacity. Hence, you can add this to our list of TECNO phones with big batteries. For context, this is higher than the 4000mAh that comes with the Spark 4.
TECNO Spark 5 Price in Nigeria
The
Tecno Spark 5 device sells for at least N48,800 Nigerian Naira. The
device is expected to be available for purchase later in May.
Are these specs enough for you to ditch your Spark 4 device and upgrade to the Spark 5? What do you think should have been improved upon? Will you purchase the Tecno Spark 5 when it launches in Nigeria?
