APC - All Progressives Congress, chieftain in Delta State, Jesutega Onokpasa, has faulted Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s recent claim that the South-South and South-East geo-political zones massively voted for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the tune of over 90 percent.

The Punch newspaper had quoted Governor Uduaghan as having made the claim at a lecture he delivered at the University of Ibadan a few days back, insisting that the voting pattern in the elections had revealed deep divisions in the country, which requires the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, to embark on a unification and healing process of the nation. Addressing newsmen, yesterday in Warri, Onokpasa however refuted the governor’s assertion, alleging that the electorate in the South-South was prevented from voting in a free fair atmosphere and that even if the South-East had substantially supported the PDP, the results therefrom were fraudulently manipulated in favour of the party.

Also, he accused the PDP of plotting to grab the ministerial slot of Delta State.

His words: “Governor Uduaghan is not a member of our party and we insist that no member of the PDP can come in at this stage, to pollute General Buhari’s in-coming government by seeking appointments in his administration. Uduaghan, in his capacity as governor, presided over massively rigging out the APC by his party, thereby potentially endangering General Buhari’s overall chances of victory. He is certainly not in a position to lecture or dictate to our President-elect to embark on a quixotic mission of so-called unification and national healing.

”Uduaghan’s call is simply a ploy by the PDP to snatch the ministerial slot of Delta, a position that should naturally go to the governorship candidate of the APC, Olorogun O’tega Emer...
