The World Health Organization has said that it might take almost $1 billion to successfully contain the diseaseThe struggle to contain and end the current Ebola outbreak might cost $1 billion, the World Health Organization (WHO) has said.
The organization has predicted, via a report released today, September 16, 2014, spending of about $987.8 million which would be used to pay health workers, buy supplies, tracing infected people, pay burial teams and buy body bags among other things.
Assistant Director General of the WHO, Bruce Aylward reportedly said at a news conference in Geneva:
“Quite frankly, ladies and gentlemen, this health crisis we're facing is unparalleled in modern times,” “We don't know where the numbers are going on this.”

Without Borders, said at a meeting of the United Nations in Geneva:
"The response to Ebola continues to fall dangerously
behind," "The window of opportunity to contain this outbreak is closing. We need
more countries to stand up, we need greater deployment, and we need it
now."
