Man-god: Episode 4
Man-God, The Awakening,
The dagger sank into the ground scuffing a bit of skin along with it. In a brief fluid moment, the blood splatter mixed with the dust that came from the impact of the dagger on the ground. Cecil screamed at the top of her voice but Okon held on to her as she tried to run towards Michael.
Michael realised that if he hadn’t flicked his head in time, his neck would have been hosting the dagger. He quickly lunged his knee into his assailant’s loins and pushed him away. He staggered to his feet while his bald fellow groaned in pain. He picked up the dagger and hit the bald lanky fellow on the head with the hilt (handle) of the dagger. The bald man fell face-down to the ground unconscious.
Cecil looked relieved as Michael regained his strength. As he tried to move, he noticed that his previous wounds from the fall were now bleeding, the stitches had ruptured. “There’s no way I can take on this next guy” he thought. The second assailant approached with his dagger. Cecil immediately tried to convince her father to let them help but he refused telling her to have a little faith.
The huge man charged towards Michael howling and dived towards him with his dagger. Michael immediately reached for his pistol. Cecil and Okon watched the huge man dropped to the floor as the bullet hit him in the chest. After a brief moment of recovering from the sound of the gun shot, Cecil rushed towards Michael to help him.
“What kind of witchcraft is that?” She asked pointing to his gun. Okon interrupted her asking her to bring him so he could look at his wounds.
“So this is actually real?” Michael stutters.
Cecil went back outside while Okon tended to Michael’s wounds. After Okon finished tending to his wounds he thanked him and got up immediately. He went outside and starred at the environment once again to reaffirm it was all real, then he realised that Cecil was nowhere to be found, including the two men. “Cecil!” he called out several times but there was no reply. Okon also came out and tried to call out to her but to no avail. They found more footsteps and signs of a struggle and little bit of blood. It wasn’t long before they realised what had happened, Cecil was gone and someone had taken her.
“We have to find her! They couldn’t have gone far.” Michael said
Cecil opened her eyes as the sunlight found its way through the leaves of the trees in the forest. She tried to move but she was bound, her hands were tied behind her back. Just then a scruffy looking man blocked the rays of sunlight over her, in one hand he had a spear and in the other, a large piece of meat which he was eating. Cecil turned away her head as little droppings of meat fell from his mouth to her face and chest.
“You must be hungry!” he said, wiping his mouth with his arm then he let out a loud belch. Cecil was disgusted by his animalistic behavior and she struggled some more to let herself loose but she couldn’t.
Two more men stood over her also eating, then one of them carried her and put her down by a tree so she could sit up and lay her back on the tree. She recognized him, he was the one that attacked Michael first. He tried to feed her but she refused. The third man was starring hard at her with a grin on his face.
“How about we have a little fun with her before we take her to the boss.” he said licking his lips.
“Why not” the other man agreed smiling and revealing is blackish teeth.
Michael’s assailant disagreed with them and told them they should not keep the boss waiting but they told him majority carries the vote and that if he wasn’t interested he could sit back and watch. Cecil tried to get up and run but one of them held her down just before she could. She struggled but the man was just too strong for her. The other man quickly removed his robe and grabbed her legs as he found his way between them. She screamed loudly but he didn’t stop.
The ray of sunlight shone into her eyes and she woke up! It was a dream! A terrible one. She was relieved that it wasn’t real as she tried to catch her breath. The scruffy looking fellow stood over her blocking the sunlight exactly as she dreamt it. “Oh no” she thought.
“You must be hungry!” he said.
“I would like to pee” she retorted.
After a bit of back and forth among the three men, they agreed to let someone take her to a secluded part of the forest but not too far from them. When they got there, he told her to do her business quickly.
“But I need my hands to pull down my garment” she said. Reluctantly he let her hands loose and told her to make it quick so they could return.
“Are you going to watch? I can’t go if you’re watching.”
Then he turned and told her she had a minute. When he turned back, she wasn’t there. “Where could she have gone” he thought has he quickly began searching for her but there was no sign of her. He decided to rush back and inform the others. As he was about to head back she came out from behind the tree that she was hiding and for a brief moment he saw her then she swung and hit him hard on the head with the branch in her hand, he fell down and lay there unconscious.
Cecil ran as fast as her legs could carry her through the woods. After running for a while, she started to grow weary, her leg struck a root and she fell to the ground. She saw three pairs of huge feet, then she realized what had happened to her, it was a trap. She looked up and saw three mean looking faces starring down at her. Their faces were painted black and two of them had daggers in their hands while the other had a spear. Her face grew pale, she tried to screamed but she was too tired. One of them carried her on his shoulders, she couldn’t even struggle and her vision got blurry as they moved through the woods. She eventually gave in to the fatigue and passed out.
