Reports have it that the Michika and Bazza communities in Adamawa state are still under the control of Boko Haram.

According to Leadership Newspaper, residents have said that the Nigerian army has not recaptured the towns as widely stated but that instead, the insurgents are still on rampage, killing, looting and raping women.

This was reportedly disclosed by a coalition of non-governmental organizations consisting of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Michika chapter, Civil Servants Forum, the Northern Christian Elders Forum and Kamwe Christian Community Forum.

A spokesperson for the group, Rev. Joel Billi is said to have stated that the communities are still under the sect’s control.

Reports also have it that 2 Boko Haram commanders and 15 fighters were killed in the same area yesterday, September 16, 2014 during a face-off with soldiers.

The battle has reportedly left bodies of indigenes, who were caught in the crossfire, littered around the town.

A military source is said to have confirmed the killing of the two dreaded sect commanders in Bazza.
